Legislative Call To Action
this is the
Time To Act

February 15, 2002

Governor Holden has proposed budget cuts that will remove one hundred eighteen million dollars {$ 118,000,000.00} from the Department of Mental Health.

These proposed cuts will drastically reduce or eliminate mental health services you receive or persons in your community receive.

The Federation of Missouri Advocates for Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services believes that the effect of the proposed budget cuts will destroy services that took 40 years of hard work to build.

Write Governor Holden, simply say:

The Honorable Bob Holden
Capitol Bldg. Room 216
Jefferson City, MO 65101

Dear Governor Holden,

Do not cut Mental Health Services in Missouri. Restore all of the $118,000,000 to the Department of Mental Health budget.

Sincerely,

Your signature

Also, call Governor Holden at (573) 751-3222. Tell him to restore one hundred eighteen million dollars to the DMH budget.

Also, call or write your State Senators and Representatives. If you do not know who they are, then you may look it up on the web at Missouri State Senate Legislator Lookup by entering your zip code, or you may call the NAMI St. Louis office at (314) 966-4670.

If you want help, then call MO-SPAN, at (314) 972-0600.
